Benefits of doing squats:

      First of all, squats are nothing but a compound exercise that can be performed anywhere with bodyweight or using additional weights.  Squats are the primary exercise to build your overall lower body strength.  Squats can target building your quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes of your leg muscles.  Performing squats has many benefits to your body and this single exercise can be the key factor in determining the success of your fitness goal.  


     There are various types of squats but, generally, bodyweight squats and weighted squats using a barbell are done mainly in a normal shoulder-width stance.  Squats can be prioritized as the main leg workout and can be added to your workout routine regularly.  Beginners shall be advised to perform bodyweight squats instead of weighted squats because to master the basic form of squatting and to avoid injuries.  Now, let us look into some of the major benefits of doing squats.

     Basically, compound exercises burn more amount of calories.  But specifically, doing squats and deadlifts can burn more amount of calories than any other compound lift because these two exercises target activating the large muscle group.  So, squats burn more amount of calories in a comparatively lesser time.  So, this automatically supports your fat loss purpose.  If you are engaged in weight loss or fat loss you can prioritize doing squats to burn more calories and acquire quick results.
